In these cold, dry climates, goats naturally grow a soft undercoat to help protect them from extreme temperatures.

These fine fibers are carefully selected based on characteristics such as softness, length, and fineness — qualities that influence the feel and performance of the finished cashmere.

Featherlight Cashmere

Featherlight was the first piece we created at Ovcio. It started with a simple idea: Could cashmere be warm and luxurious, yet light enough to carry anywhere?

A little support for delicate fibers

To create Featherlight, we developed a unique process using a temporary water-soluble yarn.

This supporting yarn helps protect and stabilize the delicate cashmere fibers during weaving. After the fabric is created, the supporting yarn is gently washed away, leaving behind pure cashmere.

The result is an ultra-light cashmere scarf that keeps the softness and warmth of cashmere while folding small enough to go wherever you go. That’s why we call it Featherlight.
